FAQ ▼

1. What is T‑shaped recessed IP67 co‑extruded COB LED strip?

It adopts Chip‑on‑Board packaging with one‑piece silicone co‑extrusion.

It features T‑shaped cross‑section for recessed installation.

It delivers dot‑free continuous lighting with IP67 rating,

suitable for linear lighting projects in outdoor, semi‑outdoor and humid environments.

2. What is the difference between T‑shaped COB strip and ordinary rectangular COB strip?

Its T‑shaped profile provides good positioning effect when recess‑mounted inside housing and prevents side‑to‑side shifting.

Conventional rectangular co‑extruded strip tends to wobble and offset inside recess housing.

One‑piece co‑extruded structure eliminates hollow inner gap, offering better waterproof and anti‑aging performance.

3. Will T‑shaped recessed IP67 co‑extruded COB strip keep IP67 rating after cutting?

Original strip body is IP67 rated. Cutting breaks co‑extruded silicone protective layer and waterproof performance is lost.

Cut‑and‑solder ends must be fully sealed with matching end caps and waterproof sealant to restore IP67 protection.

4. Will heat dissipation be affected after recessed installation?

The flat rear side of T‑shaped strip makes sufficient contact with mounting housing for good heat dissipation.

Fully sealed enclosure is prohibited and heat‑dissipation space shall be reserved.

High enclosed temperature accelerates lumen depreciation. No standing water is allowed inside housing.

5. Can IP67‑rated strip be permanently submerged in water?

IP67 is for temporary immersion and rain splash protection, not for continuous underwater submersion.

Select IP68 variant for permanent underwater application.

Power supply and controller shall be protected from rain and water ingress.

6. Does T‑shaped recessed IP67 co‑extruded COB strip support dimming?

It supports standard PWM dimming with compatible constant‑voltage dimmable driver.

Voltage‑adjust dimming is not recommended, which causes abnormal operation, excessive heat and faster lumen depreciation.

7. What is the cutting unit for T‑shaped recessed IP67 co‑extruded COB strip?

Cut strictly along printed cutting marks on PCB. Cutting unit follows COB chip grouping circuit.

Random cutting damages internal circuit and results in dark sections or abnormal lighting.

8. What precautions for installation?

Use mounting housing matching T‑shaped profile. Do not force the strip into housing.

Avoid pulling or twisting the strip. Ensure drainage for outdoor housing to prevent water accumulation.

Protect co‑extruded silicone surface from sharp scratches.

9. What are key points for power‑supply selection?

Use regulated constant‑voltage DC power supply, reserve 20%‑30% power margin based on real total wattage.

Rain‑proof power supply is mandatory for outdoor projects.

Evaluate voltage drop for long runs and add power‑injection points for extra‑long installation to avoid tail‑end dimming.
