FAQ ▼

1. What is 2‑wire Dim‑to‑Warm COB LED strip?

Dim‑to‑Warm COB strip only requires two power wires without extra signal wire.

Color temperature shifts automatically when dimming brightness.

Two options are available: 1800‑3000K warm‑toned version and 2700‑6000K full CCT range version.

COB packaging delivers dot‑free uniform lighting.

2. What is the difference between 2‑wire Dim‑to‑Warm and conventional 3‑wire CCT dimmable strip?

Standard 3‑wire CCT strip includes positive, cool‑white and warm‑white wires.

It requires dual‑channel controller to manually switch color temperature.

2‑wire Dim‑to‑Warm only has positive and negative wires.

Color temperature changes automatically together with brightness adjustment.

No extra control wire and no manual CCT switching required.

3. How to choose between 1800‑3000K and 2700‑6000K?

1800‑3000K turns to amber warm glow when dimmed, ideal for bedroom, hotel and lounge atmosphere lighting.

2700‑6000K covers warm white to cool white, suitable for office,  and commercial spaces for both functional and mood lighting.

4. What dimmers work for 2‑wire Dim‑to‑Warm COB strip?

Compatible with Triac, 0‑10V and PWM 2‑wire dimmable drivers.

Standard 3‑wire CCT controller cannot be used.

Dedicated Dim‑to‑Warm driver is mandatory, otherwise color temperature will not shift with brightness.

5. Can Dim‑to‑Warm COB strip be cut? What is cutting unit?

Cut strictly along printed cutting marks on PCB. Cutting unit follows circuit grouping.

Incorrect cutting damages internal circuit and causes abnormal CCT or dark segments.

6. Brightness dims but color temperature does not change, what is the reason?

Mostly caused by incompatible driver instead of strip hardware fault.

Please confirm the driver is specially designed for 2‑wire Dim‑to‑Warm.

Ordinary dimmable power only adjusts brightness without CCT shift function.

7. What precautions for outdoor installation?

Select strip with proper IP rating. Cut ends and solder joints are waterproof weak points.

Fully seal all cut‑and‑solder joints. Keep driver power unit in dry rain‑proof area.

8. What notes for power supply selection?

Use constant‑voltage DC driver supporting Dim‑to‑Warm function, reserve 20%‑30% power margin based on total load.

Over‑voltage operation is forbidden, which leads to wrong color temperature and accelerated lumen depreciation.

9. Will there be color jump or CCT‑stepping issue for Dim‑to‑Warm COB strip?

Brightness and color temperature work smoothly with qualified matched driver.

Color jump usually comes from poor‑quality dimmer or mismatched dimming frequency.

Replace with compatible Dim‑to‑Warm driver to solve the problem.
