FAQ ▼

1. What is single‑signal SPI pixel LED strip?

Single‑signal SPI pixel LED strip transmits data via one single data wire. It supports individual pixel control and various dynamic effects such as running water, chasing, gradient and animations. It is compatible with most standard SPI controllers on the market.

2. What is the difference between single‑signal and dual‑signal SPI strip?

Single‑signal version has only one data wire. It features simple wiring and good cost‑performance for most home and general commercial lighting projects. Dual‑signal design includes backup data lines mainly for extra‑long large‑scale engineering projects, which is unnecessary for ordinary applications.

3. Why is the LED strip completely off?

Common causes: reversed positive‑negative polarity, wrong data‑wire connection, unmatched supply voltage, incompatible controller, loose connection or damaged strip. Please check wiring sequence first.

4. Strip lights up but no chasing animation, stays static solid color?

This is usually caused by wrong controller mode, mismatched IC protocol or missing correct program. Please switch to corresponding SPI pixel‑control mode and match the IC model of your strip.

5. Some pixels flicker randomly or show glitch effects?

It is normally caused by signal interference, long wiring without signal amplifier, voltage drop or poor contact. Install signal amplifiers for long‑distance installation.

6. Can single‑signal SPI LED strip be cut?

Yes. Cut strictly along the cutting marks printed on PCB. Each segment remains individually addressable after cutting. Re‑soldering is required at the cut point.

7. What is the recommended maximum length for single‑signal SPI strip?

Keep within 5 meters with single‑end power supply. Use double‑end power supply for lengths over 5 meters. Signal amplifier is mandatory above 10 meters to prevent signal attenuation and abnormal animations.

8. Can it work with APP, remote control or sound‑activated function?

Yes, but you need a controller that supports SPI protocol. Ordinary non‑SPI controllers cannot produce pixel chasing effects.

9. What should be noticed for outdoor installation?

Use waterproof version with proper IP rating. Ensure all joints are well waterproofed. Keep power supply and controller in dry area away from rain and water.
